Skoda records servicing in its Digital Service Schedule (DSS), which replaced the stamped paper service book for UK cars from around 2013. Each time a franchised Skoda dealer services the car, the date, mileage and work done are written to the manufacturer's central record for that vehicle rather than a book kept in the glovebox.
Owners can see it in the MySkoda app (which does not always show the full history), get a free printout from a dealer at service time, or use Skoda's paid erWin trade portal.
Typical service interval: every 12 months or 10,000 miles on the fixed schedule, up to two years or about 18,600 miles on the flexible schedule. A record that skips an interval is worth asking about.
- Skoda uses the Volkswagen Group DSS: ODIS-licensed independent garages write into the same record as a dealer.
- The DSS was extended to all models from May 2016; earlier cars may have services in the paper book only.
What a Skoda service history check shows
The check asks Skoda's dealer network for the digital records held against the registration and returns every entry it holds:

- Reading it: mileages rise steadily and the gaps are about a year apart, which matches an annual schedule. The 2022 entry is a repair, not a service, so the interval between the third and fourth services is a little over two years — worth asking about.
- Where the manufacturer supplies its own PDF, it is attached to your email alongside this table. Reports stay available online for six months.
- A report with no records looks like this table with no rows and a clear statement that the manufacturer holds no digital entries; see what that means.
Reading a Skoda service record
- Mileages should rise steadily. A reading lower than the one before points to a clocking or a data-entry error; compare with the MOT mileages on a free MOT check.
- Gaps between entries. Skoda's schedule is every 12 months or 10,000 miles on the fixed schedule, up to two years or about 18,600 miles on the flexible schedule; a longer gap usually means an independent garage did the work, which only appears if that garage uploaded it. Ask for invoices.
- Nothing before 2013. Earlier services may sit in a paper book or an older system that was never transferred.
- No records at all. Not the same as no service history — but treat a claimed "full Skoda main-dealer history" with no digital entries as a red flag and ask the seller to explain it.
