Each time a franchised Renault dealer services the car, the date, mileage and work done are written to the manufacturer's central record for that vehicle rather than a book kept in the glovebox.
Owners can see it in the My Renault app if they are the keeper on the V5C, but only services during their own ownership — earlier keepers' history is hidden from them.
Typical service interval: varies by model and age: from every 12 months or 10,000 miles on newer cars to 18,000 miles on some older ones. A record that skips an interval is worth asking about.

What a Renault service history check shows
The check asks Renault's dealer network for the digital records held against the registration and returns every entry it holds:
- The date of each service or repair and the mileage at the time
- The type of service (scheduled service, oil service, inspection, repair) and the work carried out
- The dealer or workshop that logged it
- The manufacturer's own PDF where Renault supplies one

- Reading it: mileages rise steadily and the gaps are about a year apart, which matches an annual schedule. The 2022 entry is a repair, not a service, so the interval between the third and fourth services is a little over two years — worth asking about.

Reading a Renault service record
- Mileages should rise steadily. A reading lower than the one before points to a clocking or a data-entry error; compare with the MOT mileages on a free MOT check.
- Gaps between entries. Renault's schedule is varies by model and age: from every 12 months or 10,000 miles on newer cars to 18,000 miles on some older ones; a longer gap usually means an independent garage did the work, which only appears if that garage uploaded it. Ask for invoices.
- Nothing before 2012. Earlier services may sit in a paper book or an older system that was never transferred.
- No records at all. Not the same as no service history — but treat a claimed "full Renault main-dealer history" with no digital entries as a red flag and ask the seller to explain it.
