Land Rover records servicing in its Online Service History (OSH), which replaced the stamped paper service book for UK cars from around 2013. Each time a franchised Land Rover dealer services the car, the date, mileage and work done are written to the manufacturer's central record for that vehicle rather than a book kept in the glovebox.
Owners can request the Online Service History on the Land Rover UK website with the VIN and proof of ownership, or see it in the InControl app on newer models.
Typical service interval: about every 12 months or 16,000 miles under normal use, shorter under arduous use; some models run to 21,000 miles on the variable schedule. A record that skips an interval is worth asking about.

- Almost only the franchised network can write to OSH — a handful of JLR-accredited specialists have access — so independent servicing rarely shows.

- Reading it: mileages rise steadily and the gaps are about a year apart, which matches an annual schedule. The 2022 entry is a repair, not a service, so the interval between the third and fourth services is a little over two years — worth asking about.
- Where the manufacturer supplies its own PDF, it is attached to your email alongside this table. Reports stay available online for six months.
- A report with no records looks like this table with no rows and a clear statement that the manufacturer holds no digital entries; see what that means.
Reading a Land Rover service record
- Mileages should rise steadily. A reading lower than the one before points to a clocking or a data-entry error; compare with the MOT mileages on a free MOT check.
- Gaps between entries. Land Rover's schedule is about every 12 months or 16,000 miles under normal use, shorter under arduous use; some models run to 21,000 miles on the variable schedule; a longer gap usually means an independent garage did the work, which only appears if that garage uploaded it. Ask for invoices.
- Nothing before 2013. Earlier services may sit in a paper book or an older system that was never transferred.
- No records at all. Not the same as no service history — but treat a claimed "full Land Rover main-dealer history" with no digital entries as a red flag and ask the seller to explain it.
