What Share of Lithia’s Global Revenue Comes From the UK? Record Q2 Results Explained

UK as Lithia’s Biggest Market Outside America

The American automotive retail group holds a significant footprint in Britain through its ownership of Evans Halshaw and Stratstone. Combined, these dealerships make the United Kingdom comfortably the largest market for Lithia outside its home territory.

Half‑Year Revenue Highlights

New figures released by Lithia show that its UK operations produced around $3.81bn (£2.9bn) in revenue during the first six months of 2026. That amount represents exactly one‑fifth of the group’s total $19.06bn (£14.5bn) global revenue for the same period.

Contribution to Group Profitability

The British side of the business also delivered 15.7% of Lithia’s total gross profit, amounting to $2.92bn (£2.21bn) in the six‑month period ending June 30.

Record‑Breaking Q2 Performance

Lithia published its second‑quarter results covering April, May and June, showing a 2.2% rise in global revenues to a new peak of $9.79bn. Diluted earnings per share climbed 17% to $11.54 (£8.77), while net income edged up 1.3% to $261.6m (£199.2m).

Financing Operations Drive Growth

According to Bryan DeBoer, president and chief executive of Lithia, the firm’s financing arm posted an 80% increase in income, supported by expanding margins and higher penetration rates.

Strategic Outlook

DeBoer added that the company’s “ecosystem is delivering on its design” and that Lithia is entering the second half of the year with strong momentum. He highlighted stable new‑vehicle margins, improved used‑vehicle profitability and sequential SG&A improvement as key pillars of performance.

Why the UK Matters to Lithia

Even though Lithia did not break down the UK results in greater detail, the headline figures underscore the strategic importance of the British market. One in every five dollars of the group’s revenue now originates from the UK, and the region accounts for almost one‑sixth of total gross profit.
