Is Arnold Clark’s New EV Charging Subscription the Best Value for UK Drivers?
Find out how Arnold Clark’s £8.99/month EV charging plan with 39p/kWh rates saves drivers 29% and supports the UK's electric‑vehicle transition.
Arnold Clark has introduced a discounted electric‑vehicle charging subscription in partnership with Octopus Electroverse, further expanding its services beyond traditional car retailing.

What the Subscription Offers
The deal gives drivers access to the Arnold Clark Charge network for a flat fee of £8.99 a month. Once signed up, members benefit from a reduced charging price of 39p per kilowatt‑hour – a saving of 29% compared with the standard public‑charging tariff.
Target Audience
The subscription is sold exclusively through Octopus Electroverse and is aimed at motorists who rely heavily on public charging. It is particularly useful for drivers without a home charging point and for those who spend long periods on the road.
Instant Access Across the UK
Subscribers receive immediate eligibility for the discounted rate at any Arnold Clark ultra‑rapid charger in the UK‑wide network. The company operates 59 EV charging locations, spread across the country, ensuring convenient access for members wherever they travel.
Why the Partnership Matters
Pablo Levi, group sustainability manager at Arnold Clark, explained the strategic importance of the programme: “Making EV charging more affordable and accessible is a key part of supporting the UK’s transition to electric vehicles. Through our partnership with Octopus Electroverse, we’re giving drivers an easy way to reduce the cost of public charging without compromising on speed or convenience.”
Levi added, “Whether you don’t have access to home charging or simply spend a lot of time on the road, this subscription offers excellent value and helps make ultra‑rapid charging even more accessible across our growing UK‑wide network.”
Arnold Clark’s Wider Business Portfolio
The launch forms part of a broader diversification strategy. In addition to the charging sites, Arnold Clark runs 140 service centres, 16 accident‑repair centres, 38 vehicle‑rental sites and a central car‑auctions remarketing business.
Recent financial results underline the group’s strength. The dealer reported annual revenues exceeding £5.56 billion and posted a profit of £112.5 million. Investment in new electric‑vehicle brands contributed to an 11.2% rise in new‑car sales during 2025.
Continuing its push into the EV market, Arnold Clark recently opened its first Geely dealerships in Scotland, supporting the Chinese manufacturer’s expanding UK retail footprint.
How to Join the Subscription
Drivers can enrol via the Octopus Electroverse platform. Once the subscription is active, the 39p/kWh rate is applied automatically at any Arnold Clark ultra‑rapid charger, removing the need for separate payment handling at each session.
