Will Mazda’s New Model Line‑up and Dealer Expansion Boost UK Sales by 2027?
Mazda plans to lift UK new‑car sales by 2027 with the Mazda6e, CX‑5 and CX‑6e launches and new dealer sites in Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Plymouth and Portsmouth.
Mazda’s 2026 model offensive
In 2026 Mazda is set to introduce three new models to UK showrooms – the Mazda6e, the third‑generation CX‑5 and the CX‑6e. The brand describes 2026 as a "key year" because all three vehicles will be launched within a six‑month period, marking the first full year of availability for each model.
According to Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, the rapid rollout is intended to "trigger the next phase of growth" and to increase the profitability of sales across the network.
New models entering the UK market
The Mazda6e and the third‑generation CX‑5 are scheduled to arrive on dealer floors this month, while the CX‑6e will follow later in the year. These additions are expected to widen Mazda’s appeal to both family‑car buyers and those seeking a premium compact SUV.

Dealer network expansion strategy
Alongside the model launches, Mazda is planning a targeted expansion of its authorised dealer network. The company intends to open new showrooms in four locations where it already operates sites: Birmingham, Milton Keynes, Plymouth and Portsmouth. This move aims to improve dealer profitability and to provide a broader geographic reach for customers across England.
New locations and repair network
The expansion will also involve growing the authorised repairer network, primarily through existing dealer partners. By bolstering service capabilities, Mazda hopes to support higher retail sales and enhance the overall ownership experience.
Focus on used‑car profitability
In parallel with its new‑car push, Mazda is encouraging higher used‑car sales via the recently launched Mazda Selected approved used programme. This initiative gives dealers an additional revenue stream and offers consumers a vetted, quality‑controlled option when purchasing a pre‑owned Mazda.
Strategic outlook to 2030 and beyond
In December, Mazda UK will convene senior network partners to outline the next phase of its growth strategy. The meeting will detail a product roadmap extending to 2030, tailored to the specific demands of the UK market as industry regulations evolve.
Thomson highlighted the long‑standing relationships within the network, noting that some partnerships have lasted up to 50 years, underscoring Mazda’s commitment to collaborative, customer‑focused retailing.
The combined effect of new model introductions, dealer network growth, and an expanded used‑car programme is designed to raise Mazda’s UK retail sales figures by 2027, the first full year in which the Mazda6e, CX‑5 and CX‑6e are all on sale.
