Why is Mazda Expanding Its UK Dealer Network with a New Worthing Site?

3 min read

Mazda opens Yeomans Mazda Worthing, its second South‑Coast franchise, ahead of three new model launches and a comprehensive used‑car warranty scheme.

New Mazda Franchise on the South Coast

Mazda has added a second South‑Coast dealership to its UK network. The newly‑opened Yeomans Mazda Worthing began operating earlier this month, joining the group’s existing Bexhill outlet. The expansion is positioned as a crucial step in the brand’s growth strategy as it prepares a series of new model introductions.

Strategic importance and upcoming model launches

Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK, highlighted the timing of the Worthing opening. He noted that the site arrives when the brand is poised to launch three major vehicles over the next six months. Thomson described Worthing as a “key territory” that had previously been a notable gap in Mazda’s dealer coverage, offering a strong commercial opportunity for the brand.

He added that the partnership with Yeomans, which has a proven record of achieving top‑dealer status across multiple manufacturers, gives Mazda confidence in the future performance of both the Worthing and Bexhill sites.

Used‑car warranty and service package

The Worthing facility is not only a hub for new Mazda stock; it also has capacity for up to 40 approved used cars. Each used vehicle is sold under a comprehensive 12‑month unlimited‑mileage warranty, includes MOT protection of up to £750, and undergoes a Mazda multi‑point inspection.

In addition, every car sold through this scheme comes with a minimum six‑month MOT and will not require a service for at least six months after purchase, providing peace of mind for buyers seeking low‑maintenance options.

Comments from Mazda and Yeomans leadership

Michael Adams, Sales Manager at Yeomans Mazda Worthing, explained his return to the brand after a short sabbatical following 15 years with Mazda. He praised the alignment between Yeomans’ customer‑first values and Mazda’s own ethos, stating that this synergy strengthens the partnership.

Adams also highlighted the site’s accessible location and broad catchment area, noting strong early interest – particularly for the Mazda RX‑3, which has attracted considerable attention from local enthusiasts.

Both Mazda and Yeomans see the Worthing launch as a “next chapter” for the brand in the UK, signalling continued investment in dealer infrastructure ahead of the imminent model offensive.

What the Worthing opening means for UK buyers

For prospective owners, the new dealership expands choice on the South Coast, offering the latest Mazda models alongside a vetted used‑car programme that reduces long‑term ownership costs. The combined focus on fresh vehicle launches and a protected used‑car market underscores Mazda’s commitment to serving a diverse customer base.

Dealers and industry observers will be watching the performance of the Worthing site as an indicator of how well Mazda’s expansion strategy aligns with consumer demand in the region.
