Who is Brook Bishop and How Will He Drive Cazoo’s Commercial Growth?
Cazoo appoints former Motorway exec Brook Bishop as chief commercial officer – read how his experience will shape the used‑car marketplace.
Cazoo has announced the appointment of Brook Bishop as its new Chief Commercial Officer, strengthening the used‑car marketplace’s senior team as it continues to challenge the market leader.
Brook Bishop Joins Cazoo as Chief Commercial Officer
Brook Bishop arrives at Cazoo after a decade of senior roles across the automotive sector. His most recent position was Head of Commercial Growth and Transformation at Motorway, where he played a pivotal part in launching and scaling the business.

What Experience Does Bishop Bring?
Beyond Motorway, Bishop has served as Chief Growth Officer at Heycar – another online car‑selling platform – and earlier in his career worked as a strategy manager for Volkswagen Financial Services. These roles have given him deep insight into both marketplace dynamics and financial services within the automotive industry.
What the Role Entails at Cazoo
In his new capacity, Bishop will oversee revenue streams, commercial operations and strategic partnerships. He will work closely with dealer partners to enhance value and satisfaction, aligning Cazoo’s growth ambitions with the needs of the dealer network.
Leadership Changes Support Cazoo’s Growth Ambitions
The appointment follows two other senior changes announced earlier this year. Thomas Orthgiess was named Chief Product Officer, while Lucy Tugby was promoted to Chief Marketing Officer. Both moves came after Cazoo rebranded from Motors, signalling a renewed focus on building a credible challenger to the sector’s incumbent.
Executive Insight
Speaking about the recruitment, Cazoo chief executive Barry Judge said, “Brook joins Cazoo at a decisive stage in our mission to disrupt the sector by providing car buyers and dealers with a credible alternative to the market leader.” He added that Bishop’s decade‑long automotive experience makes him “ideally placed to work with our dealer partners to drive more value as we accelerate our fast growth ambitions.”
Reflecting on his own role, Bishop noted, “Cazoo has all the ingredients of a business ready to scale – a strong reputation with dealers, an ambitious team and a new platform that’s challenging the market leader.” He highlighted the evolving car‑buying journey, noting that AI will increasingly influence vehicle searches and that Cazoo’s agility enables an omni‑channel experience supported by AI‑powered tools.
Looking Ahead
Brook Bishop concluded, “I am looking forward to helping drive the next phase of Cazoo’s commercial growth.” His appointment underscores Cazoo’s strategy to combine marketplace expertise with innovative technology to strengthen its position in the UK used‑car market.
