Liberty Walk Dominates Classic Japfest at Goodwood

For enthusiasts of Japanese automotive culture, one event this autumn stands out above all others. The hallowed tarmac of the Goodwood Motor Circuit will play host to Classic Japfest on the 4th and 5th of October, and this year's event has been officially designated a Liberty Walk takeover. This means attendees can expect an immersive experience centred around one of the most recognisable names in custom car culture, with four iconic builds on display, a fully stocked Liberty Walk merchandise shop, and an atmosphere charged with that unique blend of stance, silhouette, and storytelling that defines the brand.

Lando Norris’s Kaido-Works R32 GT-R

Headlining the showcase is a car with a famous owner and an equally impressive specification. Lando Norris’s personal R32 GT-R will be present, featuring Liberty Walk’s distinctive Kaido-Works conversion. This build is a homage to Japan's legendary Kaido racing scene, characterised by its extended bonnet and prominent front wings. Unlike the demo car seen in Japan, this is Norris's own UK-built GT-R, meticulously finished to his exact preferences in a stealthy black-on-black theme.

The details are what make this build exceptional. The paint is a deep Bentley Beluga Black gloss, complemented by subtle satin black graphics that only reveal themselves under certain light. For durability, the front and rear diffusers feature a tough Raptor finish, a practical choice for a car that sees real use. Classic SSR wheels provide the perfect JDM aesthetic, while under the bonnet, an HKS-built engine produces a formidable 550hp, complete with launch control, anti-lag, and adjustable boost for a blend of usability and outright performance. Inside, Tillett seats are personalised with Norris's 'LN' initials and nods to his sponsor, Monster Energy, while branding from his own company, Quadrant, ensures the car remains distinct from his Formula 1 commitments. This is the only Liberty Walk Kaido-Works R32 GT-R built to this exacting specification.

Liberty Walk Europe’s RX-7 Super Silhouette

Another star of the show is Liberty Walk Europe's immensely popular RX-7. This FD-generation Super Silhouette has become a poster car for the brand across the continent, featured on Mini GT models and countless pieces of merchandise. Its motorsport-inspired design, with a squared-off front end reminiscent of a Porsche 935, is finished in a striking 'Petronas' green livery using Inozetek film.

The car's character is further defined by its intentionally mismatched wheel setup, featuring Rotiform fronts with Aerodiscs and Work Meisters at the rear. The cabin is race-focused with Tillett carbon seats. In a notable departure from tradition, the car is not powered by a rotary engine but by a reliable and refreshed Nissan SR20, producing a safe and dependable 450–460hp, ideal for a vehicle that spends significant time on the show circuit across Europe.

Auto Finesse’s S15 and a Rare R34 Super Silhouette

Completing the quartet of headline acts are two more breathtaking machines. Auto Finesse will be presenting their super-wide S15 Silvia, described by Liberty Walk Europe as "absolutely incredible." Flanking the R32 and RX-7, this car completes a formidable JDM trio on the Liberty Walk stand, promising a fantastic photo opportunity for visitors.

The final vehicle is a genuine rarity for UK shores: a Liberty Walk R34 Super Silhouette imported directly from Japan. This car boasts exaggerated aero and the full competition presence that defines the Super Silhouette line, offering fans a chance to see a truly unicorn model rarely displayed in this country.

With four definitive Liberty Walk builds, exclusive merchandise, and the unique atmosphere of Classic Japfest, the event on October 4-5 is an unmissable occasion for any fan of Japanese automotive culture. Tickets are available now for those looking to be part of the takeover.
