Japfest 2025 Fast Car Culture Collection: What JDM Cars Are Coming to Silverstone?
Discover the Fast Car Culture Collection at Japfest 2025 Silverstone, featuring 30+ unique modified Japanese cars including an air-ride Subaru P1 and a 2JZ Ford Granada.
The Fast Car Culture Collection Comes to Japfest 2025
Japfest simply wouldn't be the same without the celebrated Fast Car display, and for 2025 the event is introducing something special: the Fast Car Culture Collection. This new showcase aims to bring together the diverse styles of Japanese car modification all in one place at Silverstone, the home of British motorsport. Over the years, Fast Car has created some superb displays, but for 2025, the ambition is higher than ever, celebrating the entire spectrum of JDM car culture.
The philosophy behind the collection is simple: car modification is a personal expression. Whether your taste leans towards a track-focused build, a fast street car, a show-stopper on air ride or hydraulics, or the radical aesthetics of Bosozuko or Kanjozoku styles, the Culture Collection aims to have something for every enthusiast. This year's display is set to feature over 30 of the UK's most unique builds, creating a comprehensive snapshot of the scene.
Must-See Cars on the Fast Car Display
Bagged Subaru Impreza P1

The Subaru Impreza WRX STI earned its legendary status through decades of rally-bred performance. So why would someone fit an air-ride suspension system to a special edition P1 model, a car celebrated for its handling? Because Gary, the owner, could. And for those concerned about performance, fear not – this bagged Impreza also boasts an impressive 600bhp.
Voltex Mitsubishi Evo

If the Subaru Impreza has "almost unmatched" handling, the Mitsubishi Evo is its arch-rival, often considered to have a rawer, more aggressive character. Joining the display is Vas's Evo, equipped with a full Voltex body kit. This isn't just for show; under the bonnet lies a tuned 4G63 engine with a large single turbo and an external wastegate.
Endless-R R35 GT-R

Taking over from the R34 Skyline, the R35 GT-R is a technological tour de force. This particular example is no ordinary GT-R; it's a showcase car from the renowned Japanese tuner Endless-R. It features a veritable who's who of JDM aftermarket brands, including a GReddy-built engine, HKS components, an Amuse exhaust, Top Secret carbon fibre, and Work wheels.
AbFlug Toyota Supra

The Toyota Supra, particularly with its iconic 2JZ engine, is a legend in its own right. This example turns heads not just with the sound of its tuned 2JZ, but with its dramatic AbFlug body kit. It's a build that commands immense road presence and serves as a throwback to a defining era of Japanese tuning.
Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R Hakosuka

This is the car that started it all: the original 'Godzilla'. Nicknamed 'Hakosuka' for its boxy silhouette, this 1971 Nissan Skyline 2000 GT-R features the S20 2.0-litre straight-six engine, a road-going version of the unit from the Prince R380 race car. With 170hp in a 1100kg car, it was a force to be reckoned with in 1969, and this particular model benefited from a wider track and shorter wheelbase that helped it secure 30 consecutive race victories.
Datsun 510 Bluebird
A truly unique vehicle, this Datsun 510 is one of the few left-hand drive examples in the world, a conversion done by a previous owner in Abu Dhabi. It also sports a custom one-off paint job, the details of which owner Ben is keeping under wraps. It’s described not as a daily driver, but as a rolling tribute to an iconic JDM platform.
Toyota MkII GX71 Kaido Racer
This 1986 Toyota MkII GX71 is a prime example of the Kaido Racer style. It retains its original 1G-EU engine and features S14 HSD coilovers, a chin spoiler, and a Hiro racing rear spoiler. The interior is a period-correct treat with Pioneer speakers and a Kenwood cassette and graphic equaliser. The livery is inspired by the Super Silhouette Coca-Cola Nissan Bluebird racer.
Honda Civic EF Lowrider
Proving that lowriding isn't exclusively for American cars, this Honda Civic EF brings a unique flavour to the scene. As owner Pete Blackhurst explains, lowriding is about individuality and creativity. This Civic is set to be a standout feature, "hopping its way" around Silverstone on April 13th.
2JZ-Engined Ford Granada
A car designed to stir the pot, this Ford Granada swaps its original engine for one of the best ever built: the Toyota 2JZ. It's a bold fusion of British bodywork and Japanese heart, taking an '80s saloon and transforming it with boosted performance. It’s guaranteed to be a conversation starter.
LS-Swapped Nissan Silvia S15
Another controversial but thrilling build, this Nissan Silvia S15 has undergone an engine swap, replacing the original SR20 with a US-sourced LS3 V8. Tuned to produce around 600bhp, it may divide purists, but its brutal performance and sound are undeniable.
