Chinese EV brand Aion has celebrated its first vehicle handovers in the United Kingdom, signalling a new chapter for the marque on British roads.

Earlier this month Aion opened nine UK dealerships, creating a network for its electric range. The inaugural handover took place at Bassetts Swansea, where Mr and Mrs King from South Wales became the first customers to receive the keys to an Aion V.

Mrs King explained that the V SUV’s “premium look and feel for an affordable price” was decisive. She added that the quality of the vehicle, both inside and out, convinced them that the model offered a genuine value proposition.

The Kings also highlighted the confidence they felt thanks to Aion’s “Great 8 Promise”. This warranty package, covering eight years or 100,000 miles, is designed to reassure new‑brand buyers that long‑term support is in place. Jon Wakefield, managing director of Aion Auto UK, said the company has spent the past 18 months refining the Aion V for UK customers, local road conditions and typical driving habits. He stressed that the brand has worked “incredibly hard to develop a compelling ownership proposition with the AION Great 8 Promise”.
Wakefield described the first handover as “an incredibly proud moment for the whole Aion team”. He added that the company’s “Effortless Electrification” mantra—combining the exceptional product with a comprehensive support ecosystem—makes the switch to an electric vehicle straightforward. He looks forward to seeing the Aion V become a familiar sight on UK roads.
