The IMDA partners with Jensten Motor Trade to provide tailored insurance advice and risk management support to over 2,000 independent car dealers in the UK.

New Partnership Aims to Strengthen Independent Car Dealer Support

In a significant move for the UK's motor trade, the Independent Motor Dealers Association (IMDA) has announced a new partnership with insurance provider Jensten Motor Trade (JMT). This collaboration is set to deliver tailored advice and support to the association's membership of more than 2,000 independent car dealers across the country.

Enhanced Business Protection and Specialist Guidance

The core objective of the partnership is to help dealers safeguard their businesses and operate with greater confidence. As part of the agreement, IMDA members will gain privileged access to a suite of services from JMT. This includes dedicated insurance and risk management advice, alongside valuable industry-specific insights designed to address the unique challenges faced by independent retailers.

Dedicated Advisory Team for Dealer Needs

Jensten Motor Trade will provide a dedicated advisory team exclusively for IMDA members, ensuring a bespoke service. The firm has stated that this team will offer 'tailored insurance solutions', moving beyond a one-size-fits-all approach to better meet the specific requirements of motor trade businesses.

Confirming the new alliance, Mike Peacock, Managing Director of JMT, commented: "Following a tender process, we were selected to work with the IMDA due to our technical understanding of the sector and exceptional customer service." He added that the opportunity would accelerate the company's growth as it continues its journey to become the leading motor trade broker in the UK.

Strengthening the IMDA's Member Offering

Umesh Samani, Chairman of the IMDA, emphasised the importance of the new alliance for the organisation's members. He stated: "This partnership marks another important step in strengthening the support the IMDA provide for our members. Following the tender process with Jensten Motor Trade, the IMDA felt they brought a genuine understanding of the challenges our members face."

Samani further explained that the collaboration is focused on ensuring dealers have access to the specialist guidance and protection necessary to trade confidently, secure in the knowledge that they have the appropriate insurance cover in place. This partnership represents a continued commitment from the IMDA to bolster the resources available to independent car dealers navigating a complex and evolving market.
