Chery Celebrates Top UK Dealers at Inaugural Retailer Conference Amid Expansion Plans
Chery UK honoured its dealer partners at its first Retailer Conference in Coventry, with the Chinese brand revealing sales of over 5,500 cars since its August 2024 launch.
Chery UK's First Retailer Conference Recognises Dealer Excellence
Chinese automotive brand Chery has marked a significant milestone in its UK journey by hosting its inaugural Retailer Conference. The event, held in Coventry, was designed to celebrate the achievements of its expanding dealer network, despite the brand only launching as a standalone entity in August 2024. The conference underscores Chery's commitment to establishing a strong foothold in the competitive UK car market.

A Celebration of Partnership and Performance
At the heart of the conference was the recognition of dealer partners who have demonstrated exceptional performance across various business areas. Awards were presented in key categories including sales excellence, marketing excellence, sales innovation, and compliance excellence. This early celebration highlights the rapid progress Chery has made in building its retail infrastructure and fostering successful partnerships.
Ambitious Growth Targets for the UK Market
Farrell Hsu, Chery UK country director, used the event to outline the brand's ambitious vision. He stated, "Our vision is focused on sustainable, profitable growth and developing long-term partnerships." The brand's initial performance appears to support this ambition. Hsu revealed that in its first four months of operation, Chery has sold over 5,500 cars in the UK, securing a 1.09% market share. The retail network is now established at 58 locations and continues to expand as the brand works closely with its partners.
Award Winners: Recognising the Best of Chery's Network
The following dealer groups were honoured for their outstanding contributions to Chery's early success in the UK:
- Sales Excellence Award (Total Retail Sales): Arnold Clark Group
- Marketing Excellence Award: Invicta Motor Group
- Breakthrough Performance Award: Parks Group
- Event Excellence Award: Allen Motor Group
- Best Sales Innovation Award: Barnetts Dundee
- Sales Excellence Award (Total Fleet Sales): Greenhous Group

Future Expansion and Potential UK Manufacturing
The conference comes at a pivotal time for Chery's UK operations. The brand is set to open a new European headquarters in Liverpool, solidifying its long-term commitment to the region. Furthermore, recent reports suggest that Chery is in discussions with Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) over a potential deal that could see the British carmaker build vehicles for the Chinese brand at its UK production facilities. It is thought that the government is keen to facilitate such a deal, with senior ministers having discussed the matter with JLR executives.
This potential collaboration, combined with the recognised strength of its dealer network, positions Chery for what it hopes will be a period of sustained growth as it moves into 2026. The inaugural retailer conference serves as a clear statement of intent from a brand that is rapidly becoming a notable player in the UK's automotive landscape.
